Big picture, dirty hands.

I'm a senior machine learning engineer specializing in natural language processing, with years of experience building AI at startups. I came to engineering from linguistics and philosophy, and that background shapes how I think about language models—I care about meaning and context, not just metrics.

Right now I'm writing Corner Cases, a Substack about AI and language where I collaborate with Claude. I also study category theory and the Lean theorem prover, because I think foundations matter and because it's fun.
